Giving The Ozzies Some

Postby pikeprof » Mon Jul 12, 2004 5:54 am

You Know-I remember thinking back in the 1980s why there were so many bands (seemingly) in Australia-a country where-If I'm not mistaken and will the Australians correct me if I'm wrong?-the population is really centered in a few urban areas along the coasts-Let's Face it-besides Men At Work-INXS-Midnight Oil-there were googobs of great bands from Australia-some I remember-Scientists-Celibate Rifles-The Church (of course) and it seems like Bucketful of Brains Mag-kept finding good Australian-pysch-punk bands-of course there was good Australian rock in the 1960s ,too-The Easybeats-The Master's Apprentices,-The Missing Links-so, please if the Ozphiles or Australians in this forum know why there are (?) have been so many rock bands in Australia and what contributed to the scenes there-please post

There is a thread in the Styles/Genre topic that discusses this in depth. Hope you find it.
