Randy, you and Grunch . . . [:)]

I'm going to give the non-comittal answer and say, it depends how I feel today-- if I'm very hungry and calories, etc. do not matter I would grab a stuffed pizza that is famous up here in Oakland (certainly Chicago style)--but having grown up in California, I actually like and enjoy the California pizzas--where the concept of Pizza is being reinvented--and then a real, honest to God, New York thin crust is amazing, or a real mccoy Italian style margherita pizza--I just love pizza . . .

Well, except mass produced, filled with preservatives and loaded with salt junk that chains serve--I haven't touched a Domino's or Pizza Hut in years as they're just predictable and really not that satisfying.

So that's what you get for bringing back old polls.

Ooh, fun little "you don't have to think about this" queries. Love those on a Saturday night. My answer: Since I've had a diabetic mommy all my life, I was raised on thin crust pizza, so sometimes when I want a change I get deep dish pizza. But as a default I get thin crust, because that's what I know best. And standard toppings, please, none of this Californian mumbo jumbo. ;)

New York thin crust is all style. Ya got a worker bored out of his mind thinking of new ways to throw the dough in the air in order to get that cracker thin crust, which ultimately collapses under the weight of the cheese. Real flashy, but ultimately, you wind up asking "is that all there is?"

Chicago deep dish is all substance. Or so it thinks. Really, it's like a prog band with 3 guitarists and 2 drummers that go on 5-minute solos. Total overkill.

I like my pizza somewhere in between. A little style, a little substance. With chicken, tomatoes, and purple onions. [:D]

Hey Wald, I'm a fellow Oaklander. Have you been to Pizzaiolo on Telegraph at 51st? Long wait but damn fine thin crust "gourmet" pizza. I didn't think it would be as good as advertised by was happily surprised.

Anybody think it is weird that Quite Life's posts show that they were edited by Siouxmoux?

What's up with that?

Beatschool, haven't yet. Did go there once with a group at 5 p.m. and were told we had to wait two hours. Have had wonderful single serving pizzas at Milano, though (on Grand Ave. in Grand/Lakeshore). Their Pizza Milano is made with brie and caramelized onions and it's heavenly.

Zachary's has the memorable stuffed pizza by the way (their spinach and mushroom is heavenly). Another good Chicago Pizza place is in Downtown San Jose called Pizza Chicago--when you want to have California style Chicago Pizzas. Yum! [:D]

Yeah, there are other old posts like that (edited by people I don't even know)- seems to have happened when the board was facing some technical mishaps last time or when MikeP changed the server (or something like that)...
