I've noticed that pretty much every 80's retrospective on television (not to mention all those T.V. commercials aimed at folks in their 30's and 40's) as well as most CD "Best Of's" and movie soundtracks focus primarily on New Wave circa 80-84.
This proves that there is justice after all because at the time I remember Michael Jackson, New Kids On the Block, Bon Jovi and others of that bland-80's ilk ACTUALLY ruling the airwaves.

There was crap in the New Wave as well. Bands I couldn't stand like Scandal, The Romantics and The Motels are now being packaged along with bands that more adiquately represent New Wave.
I'd like to see some compilations along the lines of the "Killed
