Don't tell me I'm the only one here who occasionally listens to the top 40 channel just to see what's happening currently.

This song is played constantly - it may be top 10 in the nation for all I know.

It doesn't SOUND 80's -- kind of an early 90's Weezer type sound, actually - - but it's about the year 1985, bemoaning when there was music still on MTV, when did Motley Crue become 'classic rock', etc..

I don't LOVE it but think it's interesting...I'm also wary of a song like this because I'm not even sure if the band members were BORN in 1985 (is this song making FUN of me??)

What do you think of it???

i personally like it, only because it has some of the 80's references in the song as well as someone who is "stuck in the 80's" like i am.some of the references in that song i giggle and snicker about because i remember those days.

It's a good song. It's not a tribute tot the eighties, and it's not making fun of the eighties-- it's making fun of a woman stuck in 1985. If you can savor the time without lamenting it, then you're good, but if you're stuck in it, it's a problem.

I just downloaded the original SR-71 version of the song. I like it a lot -- maybe better than BFS. Plus it has a few extra lyrics not contained in the newer version, such as a line about George Michael being gay.
