I dj a bit and am getting a proper 80's binder together. I'm also working on creating an Access database with bpm (beats per minute), genre info, popularity gauge, etc.

By chance does anyone have a list (or database) already? Are there any good lists on the web (I haven't seen any)?

Any help would be great. I can always upload a finished database in Access (or transfer it to Excel) if anyone wants to join in. [:p]

Mostly industrial and synthpop, but there is some New Wave stuff as well:

Yeah I saw that list (if I was spinning more goth and industrial I'd flip for it). Not great for new wave though (minus a few songs by the cure and such).

FreeWave, if your looking for a few new wave tracks I'd say look for a few Razormaids. real nice and infectous BPM . its remix stuff from Depeche Mode, Cabaret Voltaire, and the rest of the new wave crowd.

Use DJ software to get the Bpm - PCDJ or trakor works fine...

Most new DJ CD players have BPM displays. Most have a "tap" button - which I recommend you use to get a more accurate BPM reading.

Keep in mind not all songs are consistent. They can "float". I have several different versions of a lot of songs so they might not be the same tempo as the tracks you have. But they'll be close. Mostly from the 12" versions.

Well I'm glad I finally snagged a copy of Mixmeister 4 as I'm currently getting my entire 80's album list bpm analzyed and pretty accurately as well. This should drastically improve what I was getting done before. I'll keep you posted when i have a worki
