MTV Ruins Live 8 Concerts

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

I'm pissed off about this and I didn't even watch it! I figured I would wait for the DVD and CD to come out. I waited 24 years for Pink Floyd, so a few more weeks won't matter.

MTV is a disgrace. They might as well call themselves rap hip-hop reality channel. They have nothing to do with music anymore. Asshats.

Evidently bootleg DVDs of the Live 8 concerts have been selling on eBay. Complaints by EMI, which has bought the rights to release official dvds, has prompted eBay to remove the boots.

I sure am glad I don't get MTV LOL

here in Canada, they showed it on CTV. I watched a bit of it, but from what I heard, the CTV coverage was horrible. They cut out pats of some performances and left off some performers

The sad part is is that it didn't bring awareness to the plight of Africans living in poverty...

Here's a link to the Pet Shop Boys performing "Go West" in Moscow. Some chit-chat by the Russian announcers suring the intro and outro, but at least they kept the cameras on the performers! This is a big file, but high quality.
