Wonderful band - Sulk and Fourth Drawer Down my favourites.

Worth checking out are the BBC Radio 1 sessions - there were two CD releases a couple of years back. These span the earlier Asscoiates era (with Alan Rankine) and also the slightly later 'Perhaps' era. A good mix of alternate takes, including plenty of re-recordings of earlier tracks that still retain a hint off oddness. The bass-heavy funk stomp of 'The Affectionate Punch' version on Volule II is a highlight for me as is 'Me Myself and the Tragic Story' (a.k.a. A.G It's You Again, which has still never surfaced on CD as yet AFAIK.

Just got Fourth Drawer Down from Amazon coz I like Tell Me Easter's On Friday and White Car In Germany. Now,I'm pondering my next move.... Is it going to be Sulk? Some questions have been raised regarding the remastering job... or the Radio One Sessions unless I decide to go for the Singles ... Tough decision![:D]

Favourite tracks are "White car in Germany", "Club Country", and "No", the latter of which I heard that Bjork was supposed to be covering - did that ever appear anywhere?

I love Billy M's cover of Bowie's "Secret life of Arabia" on the first BEF album - he really belts that sucker out!

I have not heard too much of their work, but from what I have, Q Quarters remains one of my all time favorites from the Early 80's. I also liked Breakfast as well. Maybe I'm going to be more of a listener of Fourth Drawer Down, but I'm going to listen to more than the Popera collection to offer any real views. Still, Thanks to the CD, the early songs remain the most interesting to me.

I also would love to get that book. Although I have read detailed bios, there's something about reading through a great book that's better in my view.
