New Depeche Mode

Postby goutroy » Mon Jul 25, 2005 6:55 am

On a trip to LA this past weekend, I heard the new DM single "Precious" on one of the stations there. It sounded like a cross between the sounds of the songs on Violator and Ultra - quite an enjoyable track, and hopefully indicative of the rest of the album. Anyone else heard the song yet?

Edit: oops, I didn't realize there's a topic about the song in the News Forum. (Although in my defense, my search for "Depeche Mode" didn't turn it up because "Mode" isn't used anywhere in the thread.)

I agree it is quite catchy. There is a leaked version of the song floating around on the internet.

First of all. This song is very catchy.
It has the early synth sound combined with guitars.
It could remind you of a cross between Policy og Truth and Enjoy The Silence. And My Secret Garden comes into my mind.

I like it, like it a lot.
Got to buy this one for sure.

Now Im really looking forward the release of Playing the Angel.
It's a must have record for me.

It reminds me a bit of "Enjoy the Silence" but not as strong melodically. I'm skeptical of Dave sticking his fingers in the songwriting pie this time around. Paper Monsters was kind of eh....

I still maintain they should beg Alan Wilder to come back...for at least one album for fuck's sake.
