Today I had the pleasure of hosting an intimate lunch gathering with Mike P., his lovely fiance' and a mutual friend at the 56th Fighter Group restaurant at Republic Airport in East Farmingdale.

The following NWO members were on hand for a most enjoyable get together and dining experience. Myself, Mrs. 2Nu, Marie3, Abacab66, and Eeyore2 (who incidentally was kind enough to give each of us an authentic 80's collectible MTV promo button!)

Afterwards I was able to arrange a visit to the Republic Airport ATC Tower.
Excellent visibility made for some spectactular 360 deg views of LI.

My thanks to the FRG ATC staff: Cecil, Rene, Matt and Al for their hospitality and affording the courtesy of our visit.[8D]

Wow, excellent 2Nu. And another NWO'er revealed...Eeyore! I just hope Mike doesn't feel like the freaking Pope or something, visiting various places of New Wave worship!!! [:D]

Pretty good detective work Blir, but, that chair was empty the whole time. I moved one seat to my right for the picture. I had the pleasure of sitting next to the one and only Marie3.[:D]

Wow, I can't believe you guys actually got together out here on the Island. I so would have been there had I not gotten in so late last night from San Fran [:(] And at the Fighterr Group no less - I practically lived there for a few summers in the early nineties.....plus the ATC Tower.....whoa - you rock 2nu.

That's a great restaurant. I just joined (here). I'm on the island alot. Maybe there will be a next time I'll be able to attend.

2Nu, thanks so much for the pic and the kind words! My pic didn't get saved in my phone, so we didn't get a pic of Marie with the gang![:(] Eeyore, thanks for the MTV pins ... that was really generous of you.

We had a great time ... the control tower was really exciting! You know, my dad's a retired Delta pilot, and I still haven't been inside of a control tower until now!

Sorry for the late response ... I finally have time to sign on and catch up ... where else? Work.

Glad you (and your fiance Alina) got the chance to meet up with us.[;)]

FYI: I do have a short video clip of our visit to the ATC tower cab.
