Introducing Otter Pop Radio

Postby Otters Walk Among Us » Mon Jan 09, 2006 9:33 am

Well, for shits and giggles (what a great phrase), I decided a few weeks ago to start a radio station on live365, just to see what it was like to do it.

I'm trying to include all kinds of tasty obscure pop music, so you will hear:
lots of indiepop from around the world (labels like Matinee, Apricot, Microindie, Elefant, Harriet, 53rd and 3rd, Sunday, and of course early Creation and Sarah)
60's garage and psychedelic pop (think Nuggets and Garage Beat compilations)
a bit of obscure new wave and power pop
anything else that is catchy and fun, not awful and gross!

Admittedly, not a lot of new wave (there are a lot of new wave stations on live 365 and many can do it better than I could), but anyone that likes a good pop tune or has enjoyed one of my mixes will probably hear something they like.

Here it is:

Let me attest to Otter's amazing repertoire of pop music having sampled a small 12gigs of his library. It is incredibly broad and deep. You will be exposed to an amazing undercurrent of great pop that existed and thrived, albeit often anonymously, alongside the various more popular genres of their times. It should be a real treat Otters - thanks!
