Songs or groups you can't or won't rip to mp3

It is an interesting topic. I have a neighbor who burned all of his CD's to an Ipod and then sold everything that he had at a garage sale (unfortunately there was nothing worth picking up [:p]).

Me, I burn them so that I can have my music with me at work, home, vacation, etc. However, I would never get rid of the original media.

It is nice to refer to the liner notes, etc., but to me the product is the music. Ultimately, I don't care how I own it, but at this stage in my life I prefer mp3.

Many of my albums are in Mp3 format.. but I listen more to my CDs than to my Mp3 songs. All of my Joy Division stuff is in CD format.. except for my vinyl of Substance.

It's funny, I was just like you fanciz, but as time wore on my records and cd's have become less important in the "physical" sense as I find myself much more likely to scroll to a record or cd on my ipod or computer than to actually go get the cd or (gasp) put a record on the turntable! I think I actually listen to more music now because of it. I also am more likely to make a mix cd for my car or bring my ipod along. I completely understand having to have your hands on it though. I have refused to buy an album off itunes from The Pressure Boys even though I can't find it on cd for that very reason![:)]

I think (if I read it right) that this has veered off topic a little in the fact that red x red was asking what cd's you really were too lazy to rip because it just wasn't that good or important to take the time out of your life to burn ....I have a couple of Cure CD's that I wouldn't bother ripping and one of the newer groups I wouldn't would be Radiohead, I think I have the cd's because they were on every Top 10 of the year from the critics so I got suckered in. They are fine, don't hate them but nothing I need to have on my ipod[:)]Guess I'm a Creep... I'm a weirdo [:D][:D]

I put alot of my cd`s in MP3 format because I can`t keep them in my Apartment because my place is to small. I could make a bed out of my cds but that would be stupid. It nice to have them in MP3 anytime I need them.I haven`t had any trouble putting them to MP3 thus far.

I have the 12 inch LP version of Simon F's remake of Baby Pain that is so full of pops that no software can remove.

I refuse to rip REM cause I can't listen to them....don't know why I got the LPs back in the day.

I got this Immaculate Fools CD that was an early European formattted CD (when CDs first came out) that refuses to be ripped. Back then there was no security features on the CDs so it is a mystery. Eventually I was able to get it on the HUB.
