I can't believe nobody has mentioned "Never Say Never" by Romeo Void.

Yep...Everyone indeed knows what they are Talkin' bout!

I immediately thought of 'The Fly' (Simple Minds)
I like Melodic Bass lines......anything from THE THE (Soul Coughing)
XTC, The FIXX, of Course J.T. from Duran Duran, (Not J.T.,but always
loved the Bass work on Arcadia's So Red the Rose) Man! Slappin' and
Poppin Bass, Fretless, It's allll Good! APB, and Johnny Q public

It's my turn to be surprised that nobody mentioned:

The Cure - "The Holy Hour"

I agree with
The Cure - "Other Voices"

I'm not a Cure fan, but Faith is the perfect album for a bass player.

Simple minds - "In Trance a mission". Simple and powerful.
The Damned - "Life goes on". Alias Killing Joke, "Eighties" and Nirvana "Come as you are".

Many of you already mentioned Colin Moulding's bass lines.

Violent Femmes - "Gone daddy gone". Acoustic bass.
Associates - "Even Dogs In the Wild"
Ultravox "I want to be a machine"
