I've heard some of it. Basically they're reworking older songs for an "unplugged" album. "Boy" is the first single.

Rock Me Gently is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. And off of one of the most profound concept albums IMHO.

I've been waiting for an acoustic Erasure album for years. I've even gone so far as to make a compilation of all their acoustic treasure from my archives. It's a combination of live bootlegs, out takes, demos, and a few official bonus tracks. The quality varies from ok to excellent. Nevertheless, valuable material of particular interest to the Erasure connoisseur. I'd be more than happy to share them with anybody who drops me an e-mail. I think it'll be great to hear more earthy interpretations from an electronic act whose songs translate really well to acoustic delivery. I saw them do an acoustic guitar set in conjunction with a record signing back in, around, 1997 at Tower Records in downtown New York City. I used to work there so my friend got me right up there, front and center [8D]

I've listened to it a few times now and I really am enjoying it...of course, I'm a fan of Erasure's past acoustic releases (b-sides, etc.). Here's the official tracklisting:

What will the title of the album be?

I love how Erasure do these kind of unexpected and creative albums. It's all about the reinvention and the reinterpretation. This leads to the reinvigoration [:p] Seriously though, the self titled concept album? Other People's Songs? I think this and the upcoming acoustic collection are manifestations of their awesome experimentaion with years of acoustic and cover bonus tracks which fans could not get enoough of. Good for them, for both going out on a limb like that and for directly addressing their hardcore fan base.

It gives me so much joy to learn that there are people who appreciate erasure after Wild or Chorus. (Same as the joy I found when I learned that people still appreciate OMD after Sugar Tax)

Has there ever been an acoustic version of Blue Savannah? That would be delish!

The album is officially released tomorrow, here in the States. I'm assuming this is from the Deluxe 2 CD package that's already out in England. Hopefully we'll get the same here. But I've been to the US and UK Amazon sites as well as Ebay today, unable to find this 2 cd set.

I found these tracks off of a HUB. If you can't find them from a retailer or just can't wait, let me know via email.

OK, I found out that Hidden Corners of Union Street is [b]not[/b] an official release. It's merely a compilation of previously released acoustic numbers, something Erasure have been doing for years, including them as bonus tracks and what not. But it *is* nice to have them in one spot for easy reference and the production values are top notch, considering that they are individually official releases. Again, if you want them, shoot me an e-mail as we tend to shy away from posting too many songs these days.
