Dave, dont left click the link but right click it and then select properties and use that URL to post.

Oneno's correct Dave. If you don't have a 2-button mouse, just control-click and select to "Open link in new window" to get the URL. If others still can't see that URL, then you're briefcase simply isn't open for the public to see - not a Mac or PC issue at all.
Having said that, it'll be much simpler if you just use something like www.yousendit.com. You DON'T have to register to use their basic service.
