Blue Monday: How many versions do you have?

Postby DonGately » Sun Jan 14, 2007 12:01 pm

How many versions of Blue Monday do you have? Anyone know how many different versions actually exist? I'm talking about New Order only, no cover versions.

I have somehow ended up with 15 versions, 11 of which I think are unique. The other 4 are poorly-labeled dupes, judging from time lengths and random smapling.

I recall a version played late night in the early 90s on 91X in San Diego that had some very techno breaks to it, but it did actually have the song vocals in there as well. So, it wasn't just some completely random mix with "How does it feel?" repeated 4300 times. Anyone have any idea which mix I heard back then?

The version you heard is probably the 1992 cover by Electroset:

Thanks, iposse, but I don't think that's it. I'm pretty sure the version I heard had more of the vocals in it. But it was 15 years ago, so who knows?

Gosh, let me think here. How many versions of "Blue Monday" do I have? I have to check. Um, let's see, there's that one... and the other... and then add in those... and toss in this... multiply by 2... carry the 1...

None.

Damn!! I have only two. The original album version and the 12" extended version.

I have the live one on DVD, live at the Finsbury Park.
