Your Most Expensive Record, In All Incarnations

Postby skinnytie » Sat Jun 09, 2007 8:00 am

Mine has got to be "Argybargy" by Squeeze. Here's what I mean:

I think I paid $5 for it when it was new on vinyl.

Then I decided to get it on CD (when it was out of print), and got the U.S. pressing of it on eBay for $15.

Then the Japanese pressing came out, with the 2 bonus tracks from the British version, which was similarly out of print. I had to have it, so that ran me another $25.

Now, there's a new Japanese pressing, and because of one b-side that never made it onto CD before ("Pretty One", though it says "Pretty Thing" on the track listings), I shelled out another $25!

$5 + $15 + $25 + $25 = $70

Damn! That's one expensive record!

What's yours?
