Avril Lavigne vs. the Rubinoos!!!???

Postby bpdp3 » Sat Jul 07, 2007 7:17 am

Oh COME ON, this is too juicy not to warrant a mention here...

The Rubinoos are suing Lavigne for ripping off their "I wanna be your boyfriend" on her current single "Girlfriend".

I actually listen to the top40 station weekly just to get a taste of what's going on out there so I do know the song pretty well - - I didn't get the connection until I read the story. I see their point, but to me it's still a little bit of a stretch...I find it hard to believe she found that as a source for her material.

Of course I hope they get some money out of the deal if it's what really went down. She strikes me as one of these artists who tries to come off as an individualistic rebel, but I can always picture the smarmy old fat guy in the back of the limo saying "thata girl...."
