Hiya.

Just wondering, are any of you guys and gals fans of Anything Box? I have their debut LP, Peace, but I seem to locate very little else from them.

Just wondering what you thought, and if any of you could help point me in the right direction in finding more stuff from these Synthpop peoples.

One of my favorite bands in the late 80's and early 90's. They are awesome live too. Their first three albums were outstanding. The second album "Worth" is my favorite. Produced by Gareth Jones (Erasure), the album is just perfect. Very mellow overtone, very moody, light hearted synths but very dark in nature. Pick it u up if you see it because it's becoming scarce. "Peace" is brilliant, probably the last real New Wave album of the 80's. I don't think there's a bad song on there. The third album "Hope" was their danciest. Very bouncey, very colorful. It's great too but probably not as good as the first two. Everything they released after that, I wasn't too keen on. I've been hoping that they get back into form all of these years but that hasn't happened. There are also some great compilations that they released that you would probably want too because they have remixes and b-sides.

I did set up a concert in the mid-90's with Anything Box as my headliner. They were amazing. Great guys and gal. Very friendly, very into music. In case you guys are reading, hello Claude, Paul, Gary, and Dania. Please do another album like "Worth".

Haha, I had already stumbled upon those downloads.

And that's some great insight, Sean. Makes me want to have those other albums all the more!

Ahhhh Anything Box are awesome. I agree their first 3 albums are incredible. Kind of lost me after that other than the couple of compilations they did. Some of the most beautiful melodies ever and some amazingly warm electronics. MUST hear "World Without Love", "Every Single Day" and so many others!!! Here are my vinyl transfers of some mixes of their first 2 singles from 1990. None of these are on any CD...

all are 320kbps / Stereo
