Of "Drop Your Pants"/"Kinetic" fame.

Someone sent me an email today notifying me of the fact that Hilary (Blake) passed away, and I got the verification of it off her official site (www.hilarykinetic.com) that she had indeed passed away in July 2007. I don't know what of yet, but I do know that in 1996 she had posted an email to a Gary Numan fan list and in it she indicated that she had some kind of lung disease that, when the drugs finally quit working, would become fatal, so maybe she passed from that. I don't know if the email's still up online, but I saved a copy of it that I found off Google as a text file so if anyone wants a copy and paste I'd be happy to oblige. Anyway, sad news for all us Hilary/synthpop fans, and obv for Hilary's loved ones.

This is such sad news! I was always hoping for some sort of comeback from her.

As I was searching for where to get Hilary throughout the years, I did also come across the Gary Numan message--which used to be live on the World Wide Web and was retrievable and was later glad to hear she was still around and hoped that whatever the issue, it was resolved.

Very sad news.

I also was always hoping she'd be back in print with likely non-released or demos-released materials as add-ons to make up one good CD (or maybe DVD set with her videos). Probably will never happen. Fortunately, there's NWO.

According to her website she passed away in July 2007. Sad that it took this long for the word to travel here. I'm saddened by this news.

It's funny that this should come up now. Someone posted a comment on my blog about Hilary last night and I, too, checked her site. I thought maybe I was in the dark, having not heard about something that happened in July. Evidently, a lot of people are just finding out now

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

"Kinetic" has been firmly rooted in my iPod for the past year. Such a shame.
