"Wall Of Voodoo's first incarnation was by far the most unique with Stan Ridgway's cinematic sensibilities and twangy vocal delivery. But all the same, I remember being surprised at how "Seven Days In Sammystown" managed to be a fully realized departure while maintaining WOV's darker edge."
I was put off at first by the whole thing then "Big Cities" (which is as close to a Stan song as they got) started showing up on our mix tapes, then "Museums" followed by "(Don't Spill My) Courage". All three are really good tunes. It took me until last year to fully appreciate "Far Side of Crazy".

Luke: First generation punk-survivor Luke James, born in Birmingham. U.K., first came to San Francisco in 1979 with his band Fashion, touring with The Police. He is co-editor of Public House, the Edinburgh Castle pub anthology. His work has been published in Aethlon, Razors Edge, and SoMa Literary Review.
According to Lûke, Dick Davis (who Lûke describes as "the best f*cking drummer ever") passed away a few years ago. Lûke, who once auditioned to be Stan Ridgway's replacement in Wall Of Voodoo, now plays blues in the Bay Area in the US of A.
Mulligan has disappeared into the world of art. He designed covers for Japan and Kajagoogoo and has recorded with Nick Beggs of Kajagoogoo.
De Harriss left Fashion before the third release, later recording an album with Richard Wright, keyboardist of Pink Floyd, as Zee. Not sure what he's up to now.
Alan Darby whet on to be in Eric Clapton's stage band.
