I believe that the heart of New Wave came from Britain. In fact it was born in Britain. But there were lots of American acts that contributed to the genre.

I loved the Brits of the FIRST HALF of the 80's (XTC, Jam, Beat, Costello, Squeeze, Roxy, etc.) but by the SECOND half of the 80's, I was all-American (R.E.M., Replacements, Suburbs, Pixies, Feelies, etc.).
