Thank You so much for sharing these rare KYYX tapes. I've been looking for years for a recording of this station. I was starting to wonder if any existed.

As with other files we've uploaded onto Zshare, you might have try a few times to properly download. It took me four tries to get this one to work.

I was just commenting on your KJET tapes thread, and now I must thank you for uploading these, bleek ! Hearing those djs' voices again...sigh...I spent so many hours listening to KYYX. It was such a big influence on me. I love seeing and hearing that there were other stations that were just as cool in other cities, too. But for a teen who "didn't get out much", KYYX was a kind of lifeline, or a portal, to coolness in the universe. At the time, I had never heard of anything so unique as these guys.

Someone at RadioInsight.com posted some airchecks of KYYX from March 25th, 1984 which was their last day before ditching the format. The sound quality is outstanding!
