Wow --shocked to see how many votes for E. Beat.

I voted for The Specials, the more Lo Fi/punky 2nd wave Ska band...

yes, I know Special AKA (and any incarnation after Hall left) are not that great..but the first 2 Special Records (especially the first) as well as one of the best songs ever recorded (Ghost Town EP) make The Early Specials my pick...

that being said: The Selecter have two of my favorite second wave ska songs "On My Radio" and "The Selecter"....

Although I voted for the beat; The Specials are in 2nd for as well as The Selecter... seen all the above bands in concert, except the Bodysnatchers, and The Specials put on a great show no matter if I saw them in 1982 or 1998...

Thanks for sharing rotator... seems 2 more votes came in for The Specials, I know Schwenko likes 'em to...[8D]

"as well as one of the best songs ever recorded (Ghost Town EP) make The Early Specials my pick..."

100% in agreement. "Ghost Town" is a haunting track that's just about perfect.

Although I like Madness, I voted for the Specials plus Fun Boy 3 is a favorite of mine too.

I had to vote for The Beat. Madness and The Specials are close though.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

When I was 17 I was a huge Beat and Specials fan. It's a toughie but I have to pick the Beat.

I like all the bands on there, but The Beat is a clear standout for me. Easy choice.
