Pretty in Pink!!!

All right, there was great music in this movie but I have a more pressing question. Why the hell would a girl pick Blain over Ducky? Ducky was representing most of us guys. Blain was a rich yuppy but worst of all were those giant googly eyes of his! AAAAH! Every time I see Andrew McCarthy I want to strangle him. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!!!!! Those eyes! I can't take it. It's bad enough that Ducky was so in love with Molly that he would drive his bike by her house every day, but to go for googly eyes, this is crazy! Keeping with the new wave theme, Ducky was a cool but dorky new wave guy who could be himself. Googly eyes was a yuppy! For Gods sakes HE WORE A SWEATER OVER HIS SHOULDERS!!!! Any girl who would choose a jerk like that(eyes and all) should have her head looked at by a doctor!

All right new wave fans, lets hear it for Ducky! And what do you think of Andrew McCarthy(aka. the anti christ)?

And yes I do have a problem with yuppies, they look down on everyone but their own sweater wearing clones.

I say kudos to this movie for giving it to us straight. 9 times out of 10, most women are going to choose a Blaine over a Ducky. I wish it were otherwise.

I said "most" women not all women. Don't hit!

The Blaines/yuppies I've known seem to have had

See, Ghosty got the point of this thread! Life is pretty in pink! And your reason is why I get so mad. I love any movie like this where the underdog looses. Remember The last American Virgin? I was that kid! He loves the girl and makes an ass out of himse

A bit of "Pretty In Pink" trivia:
The record store called "Trax", where Molly Ringwald's character worked is actually WAX TRAX! RECORDS on N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago.
Being a huge Wax Trax! fanatic, I found this worth noting.
The store has since moved

I LOVED "Pretty in Pink" when I was 15 and it came out. Got my hair cut like Molly, lived in thrift store duds, and dated a guy with Duckie shoes.
Today, I am Annie Pott's Iona all the way. Right down to the eyeliner and music store. She rocked. (But if

I will second the vote for Iona, she rocked and has become my model for aging semi (or not so) gracefully in the new wave style. She was waaaaaay hot, and I think Duckie and her should have got it on.

Well, Andie DID go for Blaine, and that sucked. I

I agree that the ending where she ends up with Blaine is terrible. I had the book, and at the ending, she really ends up with Duckie. I actually first saw this film in my high school psychology class on video-my teacher was very cool and thought that th

VERY nice post....

Blaine IS creepy. Molly IS the uber-girl for Ducky. Despite this, Molly is always going to go for Blaine. Hughes knew that. Such was the genius of Hughes.

Of course I was a Ducky.

Why, Molly, WHY??????

And why, John Hugh

I've been in denial my whole life.
She is with Ducky. [?]

But, I'm Ducky, and I've already got my Molly.
Glad that one worked out.
