Anyone remember them? Anyone like 'em?

I vaguely recall "Jackie Onassis" but that's about it.

A friend of mine was really into them back during the day. I borrowed the albums and I remember listening to them but nothing really stands out clearly.

A fantastic band that should be known for so much more than Jackie O or What Does Sex Mean to Me, the main songs that seemed to get airply outside of Boston. Pound is my favorite by far...I'll drop you a line with it. Andy Fell, Guardian Angel, Ann Frank Story, their cover of Cool Jerk, and many others are just great great songs. I don't really know why they fell apart.

I can't even remember "Pound" getting airplay inside Boston. "Jackie Onassis" got a lot. I picked up the "Fig. 14" album a couple months ago, and though it's not terrible, nothing else even comes close to that song. Demerits for "What Does Sex Mean to Me?," which I detest.

Did you get the missing track that was put back in for the Figure 15 reissue, "Buttfuck"? Gee, wonder why the studio didn't include it the first time around?! "Pound" definitely got KROQ airply in LA. I even had no concept these guys were a Boston band back then because the ROQ really was so high on them.

That's the album with the kids looking at jello on the cover, n'est-ce pas? I remember 'BCN playing the hell out of Jackie Onassis.
But my fave is/was Land of the Glass Pine Cones.

Right, while Cones was on Roman Mood with the horse head cover...but man that song grates on me. Taste is such a weird thing...by which of course I don't mean to judge either of our's over the other. Just the variability itself is a trip.

Always thought their first album was better than their second, but I did like both albums. I actually believe What Does Sex Mean To Me? was actually their worst song. I always preferred Dolls, Andy Fell , Land Of The Glass Pinecones and Anne Frank (which many people panned me for back in the exchange days [:0])

Jackie Onassis is kind of catchy, but I think "What Does Sex..." and "Anne Frank" are simply awful. I don't think I've heard anything else by them.

I like both their lp's, but In a Roman Mood is definitely the weaker of the two. Besides Pound and Pinecones, I always liked A Question of Temperature and Marone Offering. Does anyone like the Zulus- the band Bangor ,Gilbert and Travis formed after HSR? They released one cd in 88.

I saw them once, when they were going by Wild Kingdom. I was not impressed. (The name change was in 1985, IIRC.)

Never saw HSR, though I've heard they were good live.
