I'm looking forward to it. It still surprises me how many supposed New Wave fans denigrate one of the greatest bands of the New Wave generation. Then they complain about the sad state of the current music scene and how today's artists can't hold a candle to their progenitors.

After nearly 30 years, U2 continues to be prolific, dynamic and vital. Their last album was very good, as was the one before that.

With all the other legendary 80s bands that have gone by the wayside, enjoy 'em while you can!

Ah, I think I heard that this was pushed back to early next year. I would think that if it was coming out in Nov, we would have heard at least something from it already.

One can only hope... Don't get me wrong, I like the recent music they have made, I just like [i]Boy[/i] and [i]October[/i] more than any of their other albums.

The idea that "Rattle and Hum", "Achtung Baby" and "Zooropa" constitute U2's "classic sound" cracks me up. I would call the classic U2 sound "Boy" through "War".

I'm thinking about picking up the re-released Under a Blood Red Sky disc and DVD. I'm very familiar with the original recording, but can anyone recommend the re-release?

Agree with Retro_NRG that Unforgettable Fire should be on the "classic" list too.

SallyLightfoot, I recommend the Under A Blood Red Sky CD/DVD re-release. It's the first time for the entire movie on DVD, and it's a good song selection from their first few lp's. (As you probably know, the cd only includes a couple of songs from Red Rocks, whereas the DVD is the entire concert.)
