Some tracks from Otters. Early A Certain Ratio rocks! Had never been exposed to them much. Next will be the Abecedarians followed by the Able Tasmans. Hmmm, is the alphabetical really the thing to do? I might not reach Yo La Tengo until 2010!
On the new front, I'm going through The Bravery EP. I don't know yet if they're going to be the next 'big thing' that critics are pumping them up to be - that rarely works to expectations. I can't shake the feeling that it sounds like exact equal parts of the Strokes (distorted vocals), Franz Ferdinand (musical style), and Jet (retro-psychedelia feel) - mixed by formula in the studio? Jury's out for me.

I remember back in 1985, I'd left Boston and my jb took me on the road to the midwest. I would constantly hit seek on my radio looking for stations I could stand. I hadn't found one driving all the way from Boston until I hit Cincinnati and found "Oxford radio".
I still remember the first band I heard on that sattion, Del Amitri before they had their big hit.
