Name That Tune Volume 19

Postby fritzb » Sat Jan 29, 2005 1:45 am

Name That Tune Volume 19[/b]

Time for the next installment of the ever popular Name That Tune[/b] game. With the success of the last game, as measured by the record participation, I'm optimistic this game will be as enjoyable for everybody. As always I've tried to balance the overall difficulty, but I have to say many of the songs in the middle of this game may be tough for some of the less knowledgable players. While they are not really obscure, many are not what I would consider "well known" hits either. Hopefully folks will have fun with it in any event. All of the tracks are the standard single or album versions, except for the very last song (#25), which is an Extended Mix. [8D]

As usual there are a total of 25 songs clips. The game is on a 100 points basis (2 point for artist, 2 point for title). Partial credit will be given for responses that are "close" to correct. There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here!

Here's the link for the response form (my email address is on it):

Here's the song sampler link:

The game will end on Friday February 11 at 4PM EST[/b].

Good Luck! [:)]

BTW: Don't forget to grab the stumper songs from NTT18. They will be gone all too soon! [8D]

Sorry I couldn't submit last game's answers in, I was so busy I couldn't even find the time to play that one... For sure I will be able to play NTT19 and I look much forward to it. I will begin right now! [;)]

Game Update[/b]

Only a few responses in so far, but it seems that this game is a bit easier than the previous few. The average score is currently 63 points.

Keep 'em coming! [8D]

This one easier than the previous ones? Let's see, I think I have 9 pairs correctly, so that gives me... 36 points, when the average is 63... [:I]
Oh well, I think I'll send them in anyway. I wanted to do it with NTT 18 before, but my internet connection

Welcome & Happy Birthday Bram!

You could do alot worse than having Killing Joke as your favorite band [;)]

I think the younger guys like you and I should get a handicap on this game (as they do in golf), since we weren't even old enough to remember

Welcome and happy birthday Brambo! [:)]

You did remarkably well considering you were not raised on this music like us old folks. You even managed to knock off one of the remaining stumpers! [8D]

Thanks all!

Wozgo - couldn't agree more[:p] How old are you by the way?

Skinnytie - Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about him (or them, it's also the band's name, right?)! I haven't heard much from him, although Sarah Smiles is OK.

Midgame Update[/b]

After a bit of a slow start, the responses have been pouring in over the past few days. The average score is currently a quite respectable 60 points. Only 1 stumper remains unidentified (#15) - honestly not a song I figured for
