Best Synth-Hook

Postby TheMunDial » Wed Aug 10, 2005 6:40 am

What song do you consider to have the best synth-hook out of the New Wave era? You know, the catchy keyboard licks that instantly become the song's, if not the artist's, trademark?

Enz, I agree! Yazoo's "Don't Go" is too cool for words. You really get the full effect on the two mixes from the 12" vinyl Extended Version!

Don't You Want Me - Human League.

I too think Just Can't Get Enough's is one of the most recognizable!

I'd say Suburbia - PET SHOP BOYS. The extended version gives it a more feel to it.

Hands Down....NEW ORDER - BLUE MONDAY (Ya with me Marvy?)[;)]

I would have give a VERY Honorable Mention to the original (Bobcat label) version of 'West End Girls'
That synth intro is a timeless classic.. Bah dum.. bum bum bum bum bum bum.. ahh.. aah.. ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh [:p]

"Take On Me" will always be associated with '80s, New Wave, and a-ha, so Magne's solo must be included.
