Mrs. Egg & the kids picked me up from work yesterday and we all headed to the Grandparents for a party. Because I hadn't been home my wife brought me the mail, which I sorted thru as she drove. The usual collection notices and court summons were immediately tossed aside as I ripped into the large padded envelope from Marv! With excitement and a solemn promise of immediate musical bliss, I was allowed to eject Toto and insert "My 80's, vol. 2".
My wife, our kids and I share SOME common musical ground; Marv's latest compilation fits sqarely in the center of that small intersection of sonic tastes! Mrs. Egg cranked the volume and sang along, simultaneously steering thru traffic and banging the beat on the steering wheel. Even our long-suffering, cynical oldest daughter Bucky (think Daria Morgendorfer)
was totally into it! Eminee (she's like Quinn, coplete with Fashion Club membership)

was singing along too! She wanted to drive past our destination so that she could finish listening to "Safety Dance"!
When we got home I reached to eject the CD to put it back into it's professionally designed jewel case (I love the "Marv -n- the gang" photo!). Mrs. Egg said "Not so fast, Buster! That sucka stays right here!" (it's her car). I guess you scored a hit with Egg and the Family, Marv! Thanks!

Just got Temple's mix. Very cool stuff, especially The Box and Spoons - I had zero exposure to these guys. Big, big thanks!

I did have to tease him about his CD title though. The second one in a row I got from Canada entitled "Canadian Stuff"!!! Come on! You don't see us sending out disks titled "United States of American Stuff" do ya?? Issues...deeep issues. [;)][:D]

Way back when this exchange first began, I received an excellent compilation entitled "afterglow". I don't know who sent it!

Whoever did the CD-R "afterglow", step forward and take a well deserved bow!

OK everybody, Marvy did a silly thing. He lost everybody's address with whom he traded discs with in the past. Now with a fresh batch of Marvy Marv mixes, he has nowhere to send them. Can everybody on the list please resend their address for him so he can get the ball rolling again?

And anybody else willing to try one of my discs out feel free to send your contact info also [:)]

Wow, my stereo system is loving Marie3's newest compilations. So many classics and so many I have'nt heard in YEARS. Kraftwerk, Industry, Aztec Camera, B-Movie, Echo, Siouxsie, Modern English, X-Mal, Belouis Some, Colourfield, Sisters, Red Flag - BRILLIANT! All LIR classics and nicely mixed together too! Did you do the mixing yourself Marie?
