7a is a particularly rocking tape W

Comsat Angels, House of Love, Psy Furs, Tubes ... Talk To Ya Later is their best, IMHO - listened to it incesssantly back in the day

Awesome stuff

Hi, wormster. I host the 20-year-old radio show "Crap From The Past" on KFAI-FM/Minneapolis.

In honor of the 30th anniversary since WLIR flipped to new wave, I thought I'd introduce a new weekly feature onto my show, by playing the "Screamer Of The Week" from 30 years ago that week.

It's one thing to play the music itself, but it's an entirely more satisfying experience to hear the songs in the context when they were introduced, with the original DJ chatter.

I poked around on the internet to see if anyone had the original recordings of those screamers, and it very quickly led me to you. Is there any way I could get copies of your recorded screamers from 1982-1987? I'd be airing one per week, and you'd get thanked on-air in whatever form you'd like.

As great as it is to listen to these tapes, these are not the original broadcasts from the 80's, when these Screamers were first played. This is a special "All-Screamers" weekend show from the 90's on WDRE. Unfortunately, this doesn't put the Screamers in their original broadcast context.

Seconds turn to minutes
And the minutes turn to hours
How the time slips away...
When you're listening to Wormster's DRE tapes...

very very nice indeed - thanks W
btw, what was the song between "whole of the moon" and "obsession"?
not familar with it, but it was GREAT - first song you stumped me with
has the lines "i see red, i see you" in it and a weird flute-like noise?
