Well, back in the early eighties, I thought I was a pretty cool individual of new wave. There weren't a whole lot of us in Tacoma, so we tended to be a proud bunch. Aside from me and my friends, I'm gonna go with Annabella Lwin, Debbie Harry, Paul Simonon, and Peter Hook.

I'll pick Mark Mothersbaugh for the guys. He was sexy in a nerdy kinda way. Say what you will, but early Devo is some dirty music, that's why I love them so, lol.

mmmm it's a tie between Nina Hagen and Blondie for the ladies....Nina just had the total aesthetic down with her look.

Of course, they were just as inspiring for their music as their appearance.

The great thing is that Boy Beorge would whoop you solid. I enjoyed reading the stories he would tell of growing up with a boxer for a father and how his boxing training came in handy against homophobes and idiots. Not calling you either of those, golfer, but you would probably need to shoot him before he knocked you silly.

Pauline Black (I still remember a big poster of her and the Selecter on an episode of WKRP in Cincinatti that was how I was introduced to the Selecter in a way. I saw flyer add in the SF Chronicle this was about 2 days befor they played at the Old Wardorf in SF in 1980 but I was too young to go to show hell I was 12 and was more interested in Jumping the Bonsai or Nut Cracker with my Red-Line BMX "good luck" but it sparked and intrest in the band I liked the energy of punk back then and their add in the Chronical looked like vans shoes. I thought they were cool and tough when I first heard them back then and still do.)
