Thats the name! Skips. We called them decks. They were the shoe of choice for Brooklyn guidos. I had a pair but I learned quick to get out of that scene.

Anyone worth their salt wore creepers, motorboat style or flat. We wore Nanas, and if you could scrape up the cash, Robots. Those were the shoes that made Doc Martin soles famous!

Back in the day my friends and I would wear black leather low heeled boots. We would call them our "Bono" boots. Loved them! They were worn most of the time. We would also wear pointy toe heels black or red.[:X]

Black 8 eyed Doc Marten's or paratrooper boots were my standard foot attire while trudging thru the wastelands of Boston in the 1980's.

I used to wear the black or white kung fu shoes. They look awesome when you roll your pants up and they cost less than $5 a pair. For a high school student, that was the perfect price. The only problem with these shoes were that it was more comfortable

yeah, those plain keds rocked. I used to paint them up with that fabric paint that came in a tube...there was puffy, shiny, glitter...that was theeeeee SHIT! lol.

The funny thing is that I've started using that stuff again for making my own t-shirts.
