LOL, just listening to one of Medication's excellent CDs. It opens up with this song, Child of the 80's by Barry Russo. It says it all! You can actually go to the virtual jukebox at his homepage and give it a listen:

I feel sad for the kids nowadays that have almost nothing to set themselves apart from the other kids...everything today is just a big mishmash... buy their style at the mall...and another thing...get off my lawn, damn kids!

That's funny (about the lawn). I guess music comes down to what's relevant and what touches you on a personal level. It seems to me that kids nowadays have two main music categories--gangsta rap and classic rock (or at least that's what they listen to in my neighborhood. Turn that music down, damn kids!). Now, I live in a suburban milktoast part of Long Island. The affection for gangsta rap is too bizarre to think about (I don't get the relevance OR the connection). Maybe the classic rock will evolve into something else.

I just ran across this video last night amd it relates to some of the opinions in this thread. I 've never heard of the song or her before.

I'm just wondering how many other younger people feel this way?

OMG, do you mean 'completely clueless'? Punks with flowers? LOL. That's the most wretched and banal thing I've seen. I hope to god that most kids today don't think of it this way...that is horrifying!!! [:0][:(!]
