The only show I saw at Malibu was China Crisis.

Spit was my favorite club of all times. [:D]

I don't recall seeing anyone at Malibu, but I did see Mission UK & APB at Heartbeat in Oyster Bay.
Does anyone remember a club in the city called The Tunnell?? I was only there once but it was extremely memorable!

The Channel in Boston. After a band outgrew the Rat and the Paradise,the next stop would be the Channel. One memorable show was seeing the Fine Young Cannibals when someone released tear gas clearing the entire club. Other favorite shows were

Ministry(With Sympathy and Twitch tours)
Stiff Little Fingers
Bow Wow Wow
The Cramps
Human Sexual Response (clad in fig leaves)
and countless local acts

The more legendary clubs from here in the greater L.A. area to have fallen that come to mind are:

Perkins Palace (Pasadena)

The Palomino (North Hollywood)

Wolf and Rissmiller's Country Club (Reseda, San Fernando Valley)

Gazzarri's on the Sunset Strip, owned by Bill Gazzarri- aka the Godfather of Rock and Roll (Hollywood)

The Starwood (Hollywood)

The Golden Bear (Huntington Beach)

As far as nightclubs go, there was Whompoppers in Universal City and Tennessee Cotton and Gin in Reseda. And what was the name of that club on Beach Blvd in HB???

My personal favorites from back in the day were Safari Sams in Huntington Beach, Fenders and Bogarts in Long Beach and The Concert Factory (formerly The Cuckoo's Nest) in Costa Mesa where I saw my first New Wave show (Killer Pussy) back in '82...ahh the memories...

i'd have to say,,,the spit club at the park avenue club in orlando florida....on every wednesday & weekends they would open the spit club & it was the hottest new wave/dance club in florida at the time from probaly,1979 to 1987. all of the big new wave tours coming thru florida would gig there. i fondly remember seeing,the producers,missing persons,the romantics,the shoes,a flock of seagulls,ministry (with sympathy tour),the twins,silver condor,duran duran,rem,bongos,nervous rex,spider and alot of other awesome new wave bands too.
the other big club in florida that i used to frequent that had alot of new wave bands perform there and have their share of new wave nights etc.....was, brassy's night club in cocoa beach florida.
brassy's was opened from 1972 til 1994.some of the new wave bands that layed there & i saw there were....psychedelic furs,our daughters wedding,the romantics,the producers,rockats,joe jackson,the proof,laughing dogs,the atlantics,susan,pezband,men at work,cowboys international,novo combo,oxo......to name a few.
also,,walt disney world in orlando florida during the 1970's thru 1983 would have concerts there every month with a concert going on at the same time in every kingdom there,with usually the biggest band taking the stage in front of cinderella's castle. during one of thest concert series there in 1977,i saw the police !!!!!!!!
before any of their records or singles ever came out in the states...it was awesome!!!!!!
