Jeez, there are (were) so many but how about:

Will You Stay the Night - Comsat Angels
Blind Vision - Blamange
Why Did It Have to Rain Today ? - APB
Romanticide - Combo Audio
Open Your Eyes - Lords of the New Church

Nothing like getting all sweaty on the dance floor
and making out with some babe equally sweaty. Yeah, I'm still
a pig.

<br>Another one for "unique, new and original at the time". Nothing wrong with that !

Time Zone - World Desturction
New Order - Blue Monday
Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia
Siouxsie & The Banshees - Cities in Dust

oh man, there were soooooooo many...

Dancing to the Dead Kennedys? Really? Hmmmmm....I hope you were bouncing around smashing into people. [B)]

I probably was. I wasn't (and am not) a good dancer, but that didn't stop me from dancing my butt off. That DKs song, for some strange reason, was very energetic and spastic to me, which is how I likely appeared as I jerked goofily around to it. I'm a small person, though, so I don't think I did any damage to anyone [^]!

Any time I heard the opening synth riff to either 99 Red Balloons, or the extended version of Safety Dance, i'd drop my Junior High Get Together donut and dash with my entourage to the dance floor....oh gold memories.

Images of Heaven by Peter Godwin
Lawnchairs by Our Daughters Wedding
Electric Dreams by Oakey and Moroder
Murderous by Nitzer Ebb

Funny thing is, a retro 80s club opened near my house, and last year me and my partner (we're about the same age) went there...only to find ALL the same people we used to see back in clubs in the 80s hanging out dressed exactly the same and dancing exactly the same to the same songs. Whereas to us it was truly a 'retro' night, for them it was still a regular night out at the clubs. We had fun dancing to a bunch of the songs, but when something by Sisters of Mercy came on, we looked at each other and I said, "I'm just not angry enough to dance to stuff like this anymore." hehe.

Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Don't You Want Me - Human League
Blue Monday - New Order
Mony, Mony - Billy Idol
I know that may sound boring, but the clubs here did not play new wave except for one, and we were usually the only people on the dance floor.

I recall visiting a friend at Fredonia College and risking life & limb, running across a busy street because we heard "I Ran" playing in a club down the road. We ran in, jumped on the dance floor and left as soon as the song was done.

I remember we had to fight our way through a sea of flannel and Timberlands but we made it!

Thank God we had the Generic Bar. They played songs like Nemesis - Shriekback, The Cutter - Echo and the Bunnymen, I Will Follow - U2 and they served awesome 4 for 1 drinks.
