I think from the list above, the Cure has the best shot and deserves to be hall of famers.

I seriously doubt that you're from 'over there'

So she was on it then. I will give her that C celebrity status she deserves then.[:D]

Yep I am indeed from "over there". Born and raised in Edinburgh in fact. You can believe me or not, frankly I couldn't care less.

She's not "revered" in the UK, not by any stretch of the imagination.
Seriously, you think her coming just above Ginger Spice in a poll is an achievement? [:D]

Are Claire Grogan and Adam Ant also revered? Actually those two are probably bigger stars lol.

You know what? I'm pretty sure "one of these days" a few of these artists will eventually get nominated. My money's on The Cure and Joy Division. Devo, Depeche Mode, and Simple Minds possibly will too. They can't be ignored forever. With that said I'm not sure how The Psychedelic Furs and Echo & the Bunnymen escaped my mind, but I wish I would have included them on this poll.

guess things have changed since your last visit;
Adam recieved the "Q" Magazine Award last year, and is credited as a major influence by such folks as Trent Reznor and No Doubt(who recently covered "Stand And Deliver" for the Gossip Girl tv series)..
Clare Grogan...not so much
Adam receives Q Magazine Icon Award 2008

6th October 2008

The 19th Q Magazine Awards were held at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London today, October 6th 2008, where Adam Ant was presented with this prestigious recognition.
Previous recipients have included Jimmy Page, Jeff Lynne and U2.

‘Adam was thrilled and surprised to be given the Q magazine Icon Award today at a ceremony in London. Receiving the statue from the Sugababes, he said how flattering it was to get an award that last year had gone to Paul McCartney, and that it was an honour to be chosen for the work that he’d done in the past—and that he was looking forward to next year with anticipation, and not only because it would be the 30th anniversary of his first album release.’

Q Magazine has been holding the awards ceremonies in London since 1990, where they have now become one of the major music events around.

This year’s event, with around 450 invited guests, was hosted by comedian Alan Carr. The Q Magazine website states that the event is “A unique and intimate celebration with arguably the world’s highest concentration of musical talent and fame.”

No, if you want to get technical that's "shoo-in" with a hyphen, Mensa.

Apparently she's huge in the art world too:

They even love her so much in Texas, they named a town after her:

As you can see, most of her fans reside within city limits.

Here is where she used to work the grill while beltin' out her "hits"!

Is Blondie in yet? I'd think them and The Ramones need to get nominated and put in... I really don't follow the process, but have seen some cool performances on the night they get "inducted." I thouhgt The Talking Heads were in to... Yes/No???

and now there's the new band featuring her husband Robert Fripp of King Crimson/Bowie, etc and current REM drummer Bill Rieflin..
and her on going stints as the mom in 'Secret Diary Of A Call Girl" with Billie Piper....

I hope it gets so massive that it collapses in on itself, sucking down all the nearby morons into the singularity.
