Skoochie's Playlist

This is a great BB. I found when I was doing a google search for Skoochie's.

I'm 25 so I missed out on the glory days of new wave but I have an older brother and sister who basically LIVED at Skoochie's so believe me, I know just about everything there is to know about 80's music and the scene in Seattle. All I can do now is play the music. I was recently hired to do an 80's show in Tacoma. Basically, Tacoma does not hold on to the history like Seattle does. It's all about hip hop in Tacoma these days. People there don't even remember good new wave clubs like Vertigo and Pacific Rim.
I just want to play songs that were played at a club like Skoochies back then. Not exactly the type of 80's stuff that stands out today like "Video Killed The Radio Star" which I believe is played more today than back then.

So let me ask some of you.....
If someone was to actually reopen Skoochies......would you seriously go?
Ever been to Neighbor's on Thursday nights? I guess that's about as close as it gets to an over the top new wave but I tend to have a good time in there. Great DJ, great music. It's fun

I haven't been to Neighbors in about fifteen years. Is it still a gay club? I used to go with a gay friend who always claimed it was easier for him to meet guys when he had a girl with him.

Noc Noc, has new wave tuesdays, downtown seattle. Been there a couple times, great vids. Neighbors is fun too, but a little over the top for me. Im thinking of creating a skoochies t-shirt. I made the kzam ones, they turn out great.

Bananarama, George Michael, Prince, John Waite in a New Wave playlist????? Gee Skoochie had a strange conception of New wave. I have the entire playlist of BM105, the mythic new wave station in Manila and I can assure you that those artists were banned from the airwaves!

PS.On the other hand Lotus Eaters is an excellent New Wave band!

LOL!!! Exactly the same reaction I had when I was also new here![B)] In fact, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper are usually included in such types of list! (Um, no offense meant to any fans...)
