An amazing song. Saw him do it live at Madison Square Garden in 1976, which was of course the begining of the end for Elton - I'm still a big fan of everything pre-1976 by EJ.

My first albums were a set I ordered off tv when I was 10 or so.(1973) It was a four LP set from K-TEL "The Fabulous 50's". I Saw American Grafitti and loved the music. "Book of Love " by The Monotones was my favorite.

I had a kiddie record player and a bunch of kiddie 45's from a young age, but the 1st LP I ever bought was the 1st Boston album. I was in 6th or 7th grade. I think this is the only one I've owned on LP, cassette, and CD. The 2nd album I bought was the first Van Halen album. By my new wave days I was mostly into cassettes. Not sure what the first new wave album I acutally owned was. Maybe someting by the Police.

my first cassette, was THRILLER!

i had cheap crappy tape players untill the early 90's, i got my first record player because i was a huge misfits fan, and they had a bunch of songs that were only on old 45's, so my first record and later first cd were both something by the misfits.

1st album-The Partridge Family Album-late 1970, I think my sister and I chipped in for it; so I guess it was jointly owned

1st rock album-Paul McCartney and Wings-Band on the Run, early 1975, followed closely by Queen-Sheer Heart Attack (bought it basically for "Killer Queen", ended up being one of the best albums in my collection still to this day)

1st New Wave album-Blondie-Parallel Lines, spring 1979

1st 45-Paul McCartney and Wings-Band on the Run, summer 1974

1st 8-track-I think it was some cheapo 70's rock compilation. I know it had "Stairway To Heaven" and "Rock and Roll All Nite" on it

1st cassette-I think it may have been the first Blondie album, summer 1980

1st 12"-Depeche Mode-Everything Counts, sometime in 1983

First CD - "Blade Runner" Soundtrack by Vangelis

First New Wave CD - Yaz - "Upstairs at Eric's"

First MP3 - Nik Kershaw - "Fiction"

The first two records I actively went out and bought and picked out myself and paid for myself were "Never Mind the Bullocks" and "Fearless" by Nina Hagen.

I was ten when I bought them. How little things change!

After that, I think I began my collection of Duran Duran 12 inches...which I still have and play to this day.
