Cellarful of Noise was basically Mark Avsec.

Gary Numan was not a one-man show. His Tubeway Army played on many of his albums.

M (of "Pop Music" fame) was a single person group.

Wasn't Sade actually a band (though it was fronted by Sade Adu)?

Hehe. Kinda like Chris Isaak's band, Silvertone. He doesn't use session musicians, but the band he began cutting records with.

Huh? What am I missing? What about all the other guys on the albums?
Original lineup was Nelson,Ian Parkin (guitar), Robert Bryan (bass), and Nicholas Chatterton-Dew (drums). I know he ended up dumping them but even after that there were others playing in the band.

after the post i realized my mistake ,and don't forget Charles Tamahi.I guess in essence Bill was more the front man. This topic could be flip flopped and be the individual name that was really a band. (i.e-Jethro Tull Molly Hatchet etc...
