I'm quite shocked at all the cool bands that you all listed as no good.[:0] Depeche Mode? Kraftwerk? Blondie? Killing joke? The Cure? NEW ORDER!!![?][?][?]
WHY??!!! I feel like Luke Skywalker when told of his father in Empire - THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE,... NNOOOOOOO!!!!!

All you had to do is search for "the fall". I've seen the thread before but didn't want to bother with a pissing contest.

Instead standing up for what you don't like, say what you do, in FreeWave's top 100 NW songs thread. He's been begging people for awhile now. I wasn't going to respond originally to his post (didn't think I have enough NW knowledge), but seeing as Kimiii had the balls, I thought I should too.

If you know NW bands well enough to bash em, then you must know much better stuff. Let's see who has balls.

XTC -- I quite like the songs I've heard from them, but I've never been moved to buy an album.

U2--same as above. I *should* like them more, but I don't.

(English) Beat--same rationale, really.

I tried rather hard to get into Comsat Angels recently, but it didn't take. I'm normally rather fond of the brooding post-punk thing, so I'm not sure why this is the case...

LOL. I really do find it quite funny how everyone's tastes vary here even with NW. I for one have a few bands in mind that I would never buy albums of, but there are usually a couple of songs I would appreciate, so I can't say I couldn't get into their music. I could, as long as I don't have to buy their releases, hehe...

Maybe now I should really submit my 'Top 100 List of Songs' on the other thread... (100???!!! ARGH! that's a lot of work! [B)][:D])

Sorry kimiii! I'm kinda surprised at the people that don't like the Ramones though. Oh well, that was the greatest thing about new wave/early punk, plenty of different styles to keep us all happy.

Bruiser, I'm with you on the Joy Division thing. I think that artistically they were way ahead of the game, but their songs never did it for me.

The only other outfit I can think of is Style Council...I gotta beleive that if it weren't for Weller's ex-Jam status, his white-boy-doing-soul schtick would've flown under the radar. With that said, he is certainly a talented guy.
