You know Robert Smith did steal the whole lipstick look right from Siouxsie, according to her, they were in a bar one night, Robert asked to borrow her lipstick, disappeared into the bathroom and emerged with it on. 20 yrs later, it remains. The most ov

overrated ? U2 & REM

U2 & REM had KILLER early material, for sure. "War" & "Boy" are seminal, in particular. but after a while, they got overhyped, overexposed, and just OVER ! and i sort of have to kinda agree on Pet Shop Boys: one more time: overr

Everybodys overlooking the obvious. How about the majority of those who were tagged as NewWave that got radio airplay?Sure it's easy to knock the odd, but how bout Sheen Easton? or Harold Faltmeyer or Aldo Nova?your hitting the easy marks but what about t

I think old Fat Bob would benefit greatly from a personal stylist. Let's send Carson from Queer Eye over to him.

While originally going to post that I agree Talking Heads were highly over-rated and once again mention my detesting of Morresey , I must agree with Hensoneno. How about Toni Basil and "Mickey" Gag

LadyLazarus, I couldn't agree more about your last post. Funny you mention Siouxsie and "Fat Bob's" lipstick. Did you know he got that idea out of Siouxise's purse!!!. He apparently went into the toilet to make himself even more off his face and she gave

My pick would definitely have to be the B-52's. I tried for many years to 'get' why so many of my friends were so enamored with them...and just couldn't see it. They seemed to me a bit too contrived, a bit of like a caricature of decent new wave bands -"H

Regarding the B-52's... My preferences were always for the songs where Fred Schnieder was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! I have NEVER liked that pikey, smug old rubber faced queen. And where did he get that Southern accent? He's from NEWARK!!!!

NO, only U2 & REM suck doggie balls. And The Cure too b/c Robert Smith stole Siouxsie's look & his fans won't admit it.
I absolutely adore Kate, Cindy, Keith & Ricky, and the reason I haven't driven a big ole stake through Fred's heart is because of them

I'll put my hand up for the Police. When the Synchronicity LP came out, it was played to death on Alternate, Pop & Rock Radio. I remember switching from one radio station to the next and hearing the exact same song. I was glad when they broke-up!!![:p]
