.38 Special

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

The best thing about Blir's post was that I was a bit confused by his reaction THEN I scrolled down to the picture...the timing was perfect. I was actually Laughing Out Loud.

Yeah I used to listen to KROQ at night but during the day the guys would listen to KLOS or KMET. Or on those days when they wanted to punish me I'd have to listen to a country station.."I'm just an ole chunk of coal but I'll be a diamond some day..."

Sheesh...now I'm getting worked up! I'm going to go out and purchase a new set of cajones and then I'll come back and tell you what I think of .38 Special.

Excellent Barmy!!!

I don't know if I'm repulsed or morbidly intrigued by that photo - the vomit is coming out of his nose....somebody's going to have a sinus infection...

Blir's photo and then Barmy's comment was a one-two punch.

Ah hell, I thank God I share the planet with such folk....gives me hope for the world.

Weird...I was just watching a repeat of the Colbert Report on Comedy Central and the "Blir Blow" photo flashed for a second during one of the segments.

Oh . . . after all of these cruel statements, I'm thinking about asking Mike P to delete every post I've ever made. [;)]

In all honesty, I'm not surprised at the comments . . . I'm just glad to generate a little discussion, even if most of it was critical.

In the 80's I hated .38 Special, Boston, Van Halen, ZZ Top, etc. In fact, I despised anything that wasn't classified as New Wave or Alternative. Over the years, I've grown to appreciate much diversity in my music, including some of these "butt rock" groups (a favorite term of my office manager).

Carry on!

I actually never thought much of 38 Special, but all I really knew of them was "Hold on Loosley" and "Caught Up in You" which are like generic 80's southern rock. But then I heard a lot of their other songs, which I didn't know were by them like "Second Chance" and "Like No Other Night" and I have to say I like them a lot more now. "Teacher Teacher" is a good song by them too, I really wouldn't go as far as to call them "country"

38 Special and projectile vomit. There's a metaphor in there somewhere, but I'm afraid I can't quite put my finger on it.

Y'all need to show some love for .38 Special. They're not the best southern rock group, but at least they didn't embarrass themselves (at least not in a big way). And y'all better not start ragging on Molly Hatchet, or else me and the boys will whup ass on all y'all nancy boys! [B)][xx(][B)][xx(]BTW RandalRog, we're coming for you first (Comparing .38 Special to f--king WINGER?!?) Blasthemy!!![}:)][}:)][}:)]Gotta go now, got some projectile vomiting to tend to. Bleeechhh!!!

"Y'all"??? LOL! I really shouldn't talk. I know 3 different guys named Bubba and 1 named Billy Ray.

Anyway, .38 Special's harmless, although I always preferred Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet or Blackfoot.

Do you like Nashville Pussy (the band)?[:D] I've seen them twice. Excellent live band.

I'm glad you clarified, otherwise, I would have responded that I find it a little twangy.
