Seona Dancing! I love them to bits, oh yes I <strike>did</strike> do (sorry about that). In fact, it was them that got me to liking Ricky Gervais and being open to his entire career trajectory. And, um, I'll admit that Ricky in the early '80s was particularly fanciable. I can't count the number of hours I've spent staring and drooling at his photos on that seonadancing.com site.

BTW, "More To Lose" performed "live" on some kids' show is featured on this clip:

Okay, first off, I rewatched that clip and... holy crap, that "come hither" look Ricky gives toward the end of that clip is truly one of the hottest things I've ever seen. Ever. And yes, if Ricky Gervais had kept at the pop music career, he could've very easily landed a space next to John Taylor or Tony Hadley on the bedroom walls of teenaged girls all across the U.K. and U.S.

Um, is it okay if I admit that I have a raging crush on early '80s Gervais? Like, THAT is what my gold standard ideal male looks like.

ETA: I tried doing a frame capture of the "come hither" look and improving it in PSP but -- I don't know. What do you think?

Oh thank GOD. Someone else to giggle over young Mr. Gervais with. *sigh* Okay, now I'm blushing like crazy. BTW, it's sweet that we seem to have similar ideas of masculine attractiveness. I don't see that all too often. Ok, anyway, back to Ricky G. Swoon time!

ETA: You totally wouldn't know it by looking at present-day Gervais that he was once the hottest male to ever exist, right? Okay, well maybe there was ONE photograph in those early days that looksd similar to present-day Gervais (it's on the seonadancing.com site), but -- David Brent in former life as teen idol material shocker? I think so.

Heh. Yes, that would be my comment on YouTube. And it's ALL true. ALL of it. Speaking of, I really need to check out the British "Office". I've just seen Gervais in the aforementioned "Extras" and in little clips of his "Animals" comedy concert.
