Hey motnow thanks again for the tunes and time to break the tapes down. I was a huge listener of wlir , you have captured some tunes i never heard of and i have to tell you i had that station on most of the day.Now i have discovered new tunes,because of you...I wish more people would convert their old tapes, who knows how many other great song i have missed...keep it going...

Wouldn't that be incredible! I'll bet there are thousands of tapes of LIR. The technology is out there to easily convert them over and share them. I wish more would do it too.

Hey Motnow and Wormhole, I know you guys have been getting a lot of praise and thanks, and maybe by now you're sick of it ;-)

But allow me to drop just a bit more your way.

I only wish I could contribute something substantial to this thread. I once had dozens of tapes of radio stuff. The better part of it was WLIR, but I also got a lot of college stuff, stuff that even LIR would not play. WBAU, WFDU, WFUV, etc., all played some great music. All they asked in return was financial support during their annual donation drives. A friend of mine has WLIR tapes, perhaps 2 dozen, spanning 1983 to maybe 1987. I'm trying to talk him into digitizing them or giving them to me to digitize for him. If he did, then I could upload his. This boy's got WLIR Dare 10 Countdowns, some great bumpers, etc. This enjoyable thread could be even better.
