NWO MixCD exchange RESULTS, PART 2

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

Thanks, Randy! I really like your "no rhyme, no reason" mixes! I'd love to trade with you--I can't wait to hear what you've put together. I'm taking a little long to get these next two compilations finished (I can't resist the temptation to over-tweak them). I'll send them to you when they're done!

Like you, I am so amazed at the amazing compilations I have received from everyone. The CD exchange makes me so happy to open my mailbox everyday! I'm in the process of loading everyone's CDs to my [:)] new [:)] IPod, so I can take everyone's music with me wherever I go!

BTW, I have not gotten that error message from Nero. The only thing I use Nero for anymore is to copy a CD. It's good for that. I haven't tried to burn any MPGA's (Nero is the only program that would burn them) for a long time because they were such a pain in the neck.

I'd just like to echo all the positive thoughts about how great this mix CD exchange has been. Keep them coming.....

I also want to beg for a copy of the Spaz CDs that never made it my way. If anyone would like to burn these for me I would really appreciate it. I vaguely recall emailing him last winter about getting them but never got a reply. From what I remember reading they sounded excellent.

I have a dozen or so mixes available to burn at any time. I may just foist some of them randomly on people. You've been warned......

If I can just make an open request to the general NWO public: I've been going mad looking for DJ Z Trip's Uneasy Listening so if anyone can help a brother out with that, it would be highly appreciated.

Manekineko--even though my burners on the blink , I think I have an extra copy or two of NRNR 5 AND 6 that I can send your way.

Chipz--would be glad to make you copies of Spaz's collection if I get my burner up soon. Let me know if someone else takes care of you in the meantime.

These excellent CDs are available on the Hub, along with 'most everything else I have received and sent. Like Randy, my burner is malfunctioning; hope to replace it soon.

Whew! FINALLY my latest compilations are finished and my CD burner is smokin'! I have two new CDs to send out. One is next wave/new wave and the other (my favorite--I think its damn near perfect, IMHO) is an estrogen-fueled romp around the world--it's kitschy, funny, sexy, and exotic. Send me an email to make sure I send you some.

Marv, I just listened to your club mix 04. As usual, it's FAB, baby! Your club mixes together are a "party to go". Ever since I saw the movie "It Runs In The Family" I have loved the song "Flawless". I'm so glad you included it! (That's the movie with 3 generations of Douglases: Kirk, Michael, and Cameron--Cameron is a DJ spinning "Flawless" for his girlfriend.) I also LOVE "Can't Get Blue Monday Outta My Head"!!! Bravo on another very cool mix, marv! [8D]

Wow Mankenineko, you've really outdone yourself this time. Morcheeba, Zero 7, Portishead, St Etienne, Broadcast...all favs but not necessarily tracks that I know. This is freaking killer. Along with Marv's midtempo electronic stuff and my electrolounge collection, this is like a chilled party in a box. Big thanks!

Oh jeez, how could I forget to mention the artwork! Great touch. Your Sweet and Sour and Club Noir will be all time classics that will never be beat...but these are great too!

Anyone stumble across Vive La Fete's song "Noir Desir" on one of these mixes yet? (If not, I know what I could start one with...)

Thanks, Blir! Glad you like the "Papercuts" mix. I'm glad I got the CDs burned in the nick of time, because now my computer is on the blink--big time! I'll probably be offline for a few days--hopefully my music files are not lost (fingers crossed!).

Hubcity--if you come across anything by Vive la Fete, could you send it my way? I heard one song by them (can't remember which one) and loved it!

Edit to add: Blir, your electrolounge mixes are among my favorites from the exchange. I play them a lot! They fit in really well with Marvy's mixes and KYYX's New Wave For Now People--other favorites of mine!

Ricky from Italy has some classic obscure Vive la Fete on the Hub...he rarely has slots available but I'll keep trying to get these tracks.

This is Exactly what I was gonna say!

No really, this looks like a TERRIFIC MIX. Lots of my favorite new artists but tracks which I haven't heard. I'm really looking forward to listening to this one.
I wish I didn't have to work so that I could have more time to listen to these awesome CDs I've been getting from you people, LOL. Either that, or I'd just like longer weekends. "Longer" as in 5 days long![:p]
Also, thanks for your thoughtfulness in including a reburned "Club Noir". Your 1st one just never played on my CD player. It would on my computer, though. I totally ADORE that CD!
I think we're musical soulmates, BTW.[:X]

Manekineko, Marvymarv, got your discs in the mail, and another stellar job! I'll be checking them out this week...

I must apologize for the delay in sending out my latest W-M mix, I have been swamped both at home and work, but finally I said "enough!" and got them burned this weekend. So of course I go to the Post Office to mail them this morning, and wouldn't you know it...I forgot it was Columbus Day!!! So tomorrow they are being sent out, so look for it in your mailbox by Friday (you know who you are Hall of Famers) Included on this mix are 4 Louisiana tunes so we don't forget about the people down there trying to rebuild their lives. I hope you all enjoy it. I promise not to be such a stranger 'round here, things look like they are settling down a little bit...
