80's New Wave Pin Ups/Then & Now

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

Then let's begin.

This is my interpretation of Ptooyah spreading her wings and soaring above the naysayers. Her delusions of greatness undiminished, she forges on long beyond when most other fringe artists of her time had the good sense to quit, realizing their brief moment had passed.

Letting neither lack of talent or cultural interest deter her, she flaps her wings even harder while searching for that elusive prey that maintains her subsistence.

THERE, in the distance, on an internet message board- a rare, ripe juicy morsel/die hard fan!

Fly on Ptooyah, fly on... if you just try hard enough you will somehow, some way gain the significance to justify the worship of more than a handful of misguided, frequency impaired, atonalists!

Pterror in the skies!

Living with a modicum of dignity over the fact that they were well aware of their career expiration date?

(Except of course for Johnny Clegg, who is still a superstar in South Africa and will always have more talent in his pinky toe than Toyah has in her entire extinct body.)

Speaking of which, Toyah asked me to tell you to stop trespassing on her tenement to mow her lawn and do her windows, or she's going to call the police. After what happened to Rebecca Schaeffer, she doesn't want to take any chances.

Glad to hear you're not a fan. Now I don't have to worry about you going to Johnny's house and putting a bullet in his chest.

there's obsessed(the word fan originates from fanatic)..
and then there's insane..
on line, I toe the line of favor of the truth; if that's obsession,guilty as charged;
some folks just can't accept that the world as it was sold to them by WLIR and Rolling Stone magazine wasn't the be all, end all,after all..

How? By tying 'em down and forcing 'em to listen to Toyah's music on an endless loop?
