Well, like I said, it ws overly simplistic but that was the point of the "tree" in a way. Pop is always around and it tames and distorts every new movement in music.

If you think about it, new wave and alternative were different in more ways than one. New wave was more alive with alot of synth and such. In the clubs, alternative and goth kind of went hand in hand.The music got too depressing. At least more depressing
