Lollapalooza cancelled

Just saw this on Yahoo News. Apparantly Morrissey,Sonic Youth,The Pixies(!),Wilco and dozens of other great bands were'nt enough to draw crowds. Makes me wonder how The Cure's "Curiosa" tour will be doing?

I wasn't surprised at all. Some bands that used to have a huge following trying to regain a bit of glory in their waning years. I was surprised that there were so many older bands that aren't popular anymore on it. They used to have some good alternative

The majority of the bands scheduled at Lollapalooza WERE young up-and-comers, just not the headliners.
Maybe next year they should downsize to just one two-day festival like Coachella, which had Radiohead,The Cure,The Flaming Lips and The Pixies topping

Its a sign of the times. Today's bands have no staying power any longer. Modern music has finally become all too disposable. Frankly, I am not suprised when the media is fixated on nasty sh**t artists like Britney, Courtney Love, and P. Diddy!

I went to Lollapalooza in the 90's and always preferred the acts playing the small (side?) stage like Stereolab, Boo Radleys, Shonen Knife, Verve, Mercury Rev, etc.

I don't think I'd ever go again, I much prefer smaller venues. Once a band gets big e
