Check out these two websites that has alot of the old New Wave and Punk bands from the late 70's.There are a ton of bands that are quite rare in here,that I have heard about, but just never got to hear any of their music before.There are also some 80's New Wave and Punk bands in these as well.

THE LAST are one of the greatest L.A. pop/punk bands of all time!
Led by Joe Nolte, they are still very much alive (although overshadowed by lesser bands, to be honest).
"Weekend Girl", contrary to the website, was released on the album "Painting Smiles

The LAST were great. As much as I like L.A. Explosion, I still think Painting Smiles On A Dead Man was even better. I too converted my LP to CD-R a while back.
